Ergonomics Policy
A safe and healthy work environment provides the foundation for all employees to be at their most productive. Not only does it promote productivity in the workforce, but it also helps prevent accidents, lawsuits and, in extreme cases, serious injury and loss of life.
To create such an environment, the company must provide sound, safe and functioning equipment, furniture, fixtures and tools that allow employees to perform their duties productively without risking their safety or health. A clear and robust ergonomic policy, like this one created by Scott Matteson for TechRepublic Premium, establishes the parameters of a safe and healthy work environment.

EXPECTATIONS FROM THE COMPANY
To meet the goal of providing a safe and ergonomically healthy work environment for all employees, the company will:
Provide and maintain on-premises office equipment and furnishings that conform to the standards and specifications outlined in this policy. For instance, standing workstation units or ergonomic desk chairs will be provided as needed.
Provide and maintain equipment to support remote workstations (such as for employees who work from home) that conform to the standards and specifications outlined in this policy. Note that the company will not be responsible for providing home-based furniture to employees.
