Checklist: Managing and Troubleshooting iOS Devices
iOS devices are known for their reliability, but as with all technology sometimes they run into operational or functional difficulties. Follow the steps in this checklist, created by Scott Matteson for TechRepublic Premium, to get the most out of your company’s iOS devices.

1. Implement and instruct employees to follow relevant related device policies for Bring Your Own Device, Information Security, and Email/Internet Usage.
2. Implement anti-malware software on iOS devices which is routinely updated and set to scan the device for threats at specific intervals.
3. iOS software updates from Apple should be configured to auto-install when they become available.
4. If possible, use a centralized mobile device management implementation to track and administer mobile devices. Ensure they apply policies to require a password/PIN/biometric scan to gain access to the device, to wipe devices after a set number of failed authentications (for instance, 10) that they encrypt data on the device, display a contact number whereby lost devices can be turned in, and can remotely wipe lost or stolen devices. For security-sensitive organizations it might be necessary to apply further settings such as disabling the ability to turn off antivirus or camera usage.
